Man, I'm dead on my feet. This week in the shelter is murder on my feet and shoulders, lots of walking/standing and carrying heavy stuff (bags of dogfood, cans with catfood, etc.). But it's mentally exhausting as well. Not only are almost all the cats ill, we also had to let the vet (humanely) euthanise awhole lot of them and one dog. The cats were too sick and were suffering a lot, he was an
'Argentijnse Dog' and a bloody scary one at that. Too agressive to be rehomed. Sad, but it was unfortunately necessary.
I also went to the vet with Axel for his yearly shots. He was SO scared, lol. Unfortunately we also got some bad news. Axel is what you call 'crypto' (short for cryptocism) which means that one of his testes has not descended at all. This testis is still somewhere in his abdomen forming a (bening) tumor there. This tumor is excreting female hormones which are causing his nipples to swell (it is possible to the extend of infection)and lactate and his fur to shed a lot. Also his male genitals will probably shrink. In other words he's turning slowly more and more feminine.
Goddammit. I have an epileptic, homosexual and now transsexual dog. -_- Yay...
But he's still the best dog ever!!
