Friday I went to the Green Day concert at Ahoy, Rotterdam. To say it was a great show would be an understatement. From all the shows I've seen (3x Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters (@Lowlands), Live (@Lowlands), Krezip, 3x Di-rect (by accident @festivals :P ), Kane(@festival), & Within Temptation (@festival)) this was definitely the best. I love how the band interacted with the crowd. Billy Joe Armstrong pulled a total of four people on stage and even let one of them sing a complete song!
The travel was really stressful though. Probably not so stressful for normal people, but for me it was terrible. I hate the public transport especially to places I don't usually go. Lots of unexpected things can happen and I can't deal with unexpected things.
We survived though. Jeniene was so excited that it was totally worth it.
She had never been to Rotterdam or had traveled such a long distance by train. When we arrived at Rotterdam she said: Wow this is so cool, it's like New York or something! (The huge glass buildings are what gave her that idea I think.) At the concert itself she jumped all over the place, screaming her lungs out for Billy Joe, lol!

Saturday I went to the Walibi World Halloween Fright Night with my colleagues from the shelter. We had a lot of fun. They're a crazy bunch of people!

Needless to say I was exhausted and slept in till 2 o'clock on sunday. I'm still not completely recovered, but tomorrow I'm going to visit Loes & Anne (Homunculus) in Nijmegen and stay over for the night. Thursday my sister and I celebrate our birthdays for our families. Friday I celebrate my birthday for friends & saturday we'll be playing Dungeons & Dragons. In between that I have to work on my school projects.

Vacation you say? Really?

no Otherside on the playlist. Bastards!

WOOT!! AWESOME!!!

*is hyper*
It was my third RHCP concert and I think it was just as good or even better than the other two!

The concert:
14.00: I arrived at the park by bike (great to have a concert in your hometown)and waited in front of the entrance for Matthijs (corridormate who also went).
14.40: Screw Matthijs, I'm going in. Security stole my waterbottle, assholes. I settled somewhere in the front, but not in the 'inner circle' thinking it was already full.
It started raining, but I was still smiling:

15.00: Tried the inner circle anyway and was one of the last ten(!) allowed in! Yay!
18.15: Finally one of the support acts started everyone was elated. Soon however it was clear that the act was horrible and people started booing and throwing items at the stage. LMAO!! People never go see Mickey Avalon, it's not worth your money.
19.30 After shooing away the Avalon dude it took a while before the second support act started: Dirty Pretty Things (an absolute must for fans of those British rockbands).
20.50: FINALLY the Peppers!!
I was just a fifteen meter or so away from the stage so I had a great view.
They started with Can't Stop, which was a great openingsong! They had a few classics like Under the Bridge:

and Give it Away:

But also a lot of songs from Californication and Stadium Arcadium.
During Hump The Bump there was a great drumsolo by Chad and two other dudes and there were multiple guitar'solos' by John and Flea.

The atmosphere on the field was awesome, everyone was friendly and happy despite the bad weather. Met a couple of people with whom I stayed during the concert.

HoM Kurt- made by me
PLEASE LET THE WEATHER BE BETTER TOMORROW!!

*ahum*

Sorry, needed to get that off my chest. Tomorrow is the Red Hot Chili Peppersconcert in the Goffertpark here in Nijmegen. As you might recall, I was practically forced by my parents to buy a ticket back in february (at the time I was feeling terribly bad)and now I'm kinda glad I did. My folks gave me the money I paid for the ticket as a present for my driverslicense so I got it for free :)

Now I hope it'll be dry tomorrow evening...
