Sinterklaasweekend update:
Friday: Ger and I went shopping for a gift for Pentha/BJ (he turned 21 last saturday) and of course we ended up at the Fantast to get him a DnDbook and a giftcertificate so he can get his own damn books next time :P Also bought the X3 dvd, but you already knew that.
Saturday: Shelter, attempt at studying and Penth's b-day (which was very nice and I had a lot of fun, talking about a lot of random and not so random stuff).
Sunday: Sinterklaas at my grandfolks place (mom's side of the family), which went surprisingly well and without any bloodshed. I got a calender for next year and a chocolate letter. Then Sinterklaas at my parents place, which aside from my dad being a dick to my youngest sis, went well too. I got a poemposter(a poster with a poem :P), canvas to paint on, a nutcracker and nuts. My mom liked the gift she got from me, a book, so that was good to hear too.
Today; Pathological& Anatomical museum with Homunculus. Awesome. Usually students are only allowed at the Anatomic museum(normal human body parts), but because we have a semi-medical study we're allowed to go were other students aren't so we could also visit the Pathological museum, which has diseased/mutated body parts. Damn nature can do some weird stuff to human bodies. Brain tumors and hemorrages, body parts infested with cancer, smokerslungs, etc. Nasty stuff. Especially the fetal/baby section was impressive; a cycloptic baby, several siamese twins (one body+two heads, ventral sides fused together, etc), kids without limbs, kids without brains or even a head, kids with gigantic heads, mermaidpeople(legs fused) and a kid with limbs only on one half of the body. Very interesting although I felt a bit bad afterwards; it's like a freakshow kind of thing. But then again all these parts/bodies were donated to science so it isn't as if they'd really minded if they were still alive...
Now: Should be studying.
In 15 minutes; watch CSI with Daan, my new corridormate. |
