Not a whole lot to tell. Today was the Developmental Neuropsychology exam, which was kind of hard. They asked some very specific questions like; what are the literal DSM-IV criteria of ADHD? Of course I know the global symptoms and how it all works in the brain, but if I wanted to know the DSM criteria literally I'd get the book, you know? Another; which two drugs are mostly used in treating partial seizure epilepsy, how do they work in the brain and what are the side effects? Sure a valid question, if the exam was about epilepsy, but not when epilepsy was just a small part of the whole course. But other questions like; 'describe the three most important theories on brain development and give examples by using a cognitive function of your choice.', were ok I guess. That's a question I'd expect in a course that's called Developmental Neuropsychology. Anyway; it could go either way with this one. We'll wait and see.
BJ got his two remaining wisdom teeth removed today. He sounded ok on the phone, so let's hope he'll feel ok when I visit him tomorrow. Poor guy. |
