Took a walk in the forrest today with Wauz, my coworker from the shelter. Of course we brought our dogs:

Meet Floeboe (Balou), Keizer (Apollo) and the dude (Axel)

I haven't shown you my latest additions to my rocks, fossils & other nature stuff collection yet. So, brace yourself here it comes:

First, from sunny Croatia (Drage, near Biograd); Common Sea-urchin tests

And this little one, which still has some spikes attached

Also a large Sea heart (compared with one from Holland)

And from Kampen, Holland:
One of the lower cheekbones from a horse. Fossilised of course.

with the teeth still attached

My youngest sister and her friends dug it up from our street while the drainage was renovated. Pretty cool, huh? Proves that there used to be farms where we live now.

Back home.

Just finished The Deathly Hallows and I must say I liked it better than The Halfblood Prince despite the number of deaths. I'm quite dissapointed by the lack of Sirius though, I fully expected him to be still alive. The epilogue? Mwah, had a bit of a fanfic quality to it.
No more spoilers from me now :)

We had a lot of fun at the realease party at Waterstone's. BJ and I had two cardboardssigns which said: "Sirius lives! ... at least in my world" and "Please don't return us to the mental ward till after 12.30 am". LOL we were photographed at least a thousand times (not kidding!)
EDIT: Yes! Found one of the pics on the 'net already:

My X-men t-shirt and Spider-man cap were stolen as well! I feel even worse about this than about my camera. It really sucks.

Bought several comics in London, wil review them later. Now I'll go visit my grandparents.

I'll catch up with a week's worth of friendpages later I promise!

HoM Kurt- made by me
Axel's new collar, isn't it wonderfully gay? I love it! (fyi: my dog likes other male dogs a lot, which makes him gay, or at least bisexual)

Best Dog Event was fun, there were a lot of different things to watch and to participate in. There was a demo from a Japanese dogfrisbee team, gundogs, agility, flyball, obedience, cattledogs, etc. Axel attempted flyball, but wasn't at all interested in the tennisballs so that was an instant failure. The Jack Russelrace went a little better, lol. Those little JR's are nuts I swear!

The dog friends:

Axel, Baloe (or Floeboe) and Shayna. And human friends/colleagues Claudia (or Wauz) and Nancy.

It's hot! I'm almost dying out here. Axel rather enjoys the sun though as you can see on these pics:

I had a good weekend, nice and relaxed. Last week I did my Methods exam (only the first part, the second part will be in july), which usually is the cause for a lot of anxiety and stress, but this time I didn't break a sweat. Not that it went all that much better than usual, but it just felt less like the end of the world. That was nice for a change.

My internet is lame here in kampen so I'll check my friendspage tomorrow or tuesday. [info]heartandcore, I checked for your skype message, but I couldn't find it. :S

Wasted half an hour of my time doing the neurodiagnostics test friday, then paid 2 euro's on a lecture about parkinson disease, but I couldn't concentrate long enough to actually know what he talked about. Good thing I already learned all about parkinson, oh say 200 times before.

DnD friday night. Didn't want to go at first, but D. was there for a change so we had to play. It was fun, but utterly exhausting and I couldn't really concentrate on the game. Oh well...

Saturday I drove to the shelter by car, which was kind of scary. My parents car is nothing like the car I used for lessons. It's a petrol instead of a diesel car so the clutch and gear stuff are totally different and it's much lower and broader than the other car. But I survived.
After two hours at the shelter I was so dead, they actually told me to go home and get some rest. So I did.

Took a shower, went to bed and stayed there from 11.30 till 15.30. Got out, had tea and felt sick all day.

My parents surprised me and Jeniene with driving us to the middle of fucking nowhere to see the lunar eclipse. I attempted to make some pictures.

The result. Not too shabby )

Couldn't photograph the red moon unfortunately, but it was spectacular to see.
Sometimes my parents can be awesomely cool. They already drove miles once to see the solar eclipse in Luxembourg. There are some nerdgenes inside us all I guess (except for Marjon, who didn't want to go).

Behold my new custom made bookcase, the 'art' by a friend and the comicbook, which kinda ruins the workaholic look I was aiming for...lol
My desk after an attempt of studying.
